Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am honored to hold space for you in this moment, or any moment that we cross physical paths. Spaciousness has been the theme of my life for the past few months, and I feel that Great Spirit has given me the powerful tool of being a space holder. I am experiencing my life as a prayer, that whatever I do, say, and think becomes my very reality. I am humbled. It is my joy to simply hold space, to admit that I am human, and to say, "I do not know."
I am currently traveling in Northern California, after recently leaving the magic land of Ojai, CA, where I was retreating and hosting earth healing circles. I am honored to have been embraced by every community I enter into. My beloved partner, Andrew, and I are planting seeds for the next stop. I am seeking a community to begin rooting into.
I have been celebrating freedom on Earth since June of 2009, when I chose to embark on a solo journey to India to train in the art of yoga. I landed safely at a beautiful ashram at the head of the Ganges River, the Sivinanda Kutir Yoga Ashram in Uttarkashi, India. I treasure this moment in my life, as it opened my eyes to the fearless quality of living a life aligned with Love. I became courage.
I grudgingly returned to Indiana to finish my Bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre. By the Grace of Goodness, I was granted a space at the University to begin teaching yoga. I taught Rise and Shine Yoga every morning at 7am for five months to a dedicated group of college students. This was an incredible gift, as it ingrained the teachings into my bones.
After graduation, I left the United States to enter the tranquil and beautiful jungles of Costa Rica. Here my experiences were full. I traveled like a gypsy, lived on beaches, lived with strangers who were instantly family, felt deep aloneness, lived in the city, taught preschool yoga, taught first grade, and finally landed at my vision: the resident yoga teacher at a renowned Yoga Resort in my favorite town! Anamaya Resort was a dream come true, and I soaked up the sun and taught week-long yoga retreats for six months, while also studying with incredible guest teachers, learning how to perform on the arial silks, and learning the art of healing through the power of the Earth.
Since last March, I have been on another journey. This journey, one of inner transformation: that of Self-Love. Life has been pure magic. I have had the honor of sitting in many native ceremonies, sweat lodges, and teepee circles, journeying with medicine women, shaman, and many healers, learning the art of compassionate communication, and the power of Earth Healing Attunements.
My background of music and play have begun to weave into my life again in the past few months. I picked up a ukulele about a year and a half ago and enjoy writing heart songs and prayers. I have been honored to perform at many amazing places, including the "In The Light" festival in Northern California, the opening of "Frog's Milk" in Louisville, KY, Unity of Louisville, the Rio Gozo farm party, Scott Catamas' Compassionate Communication playshop, amongst many more. I collaborated with my beloved and supportive partner, Andrew Jones, on his new children's album "Feet on the Trees." We are in the process of completing a duet album of heart songs and kirtan, and my solo album of original heart songs, "Earth Child," is nearly complete, by Mother's Grace.
I have truly been not only in the Flow of Love, but I have become the Flow of Love. I am gratitude. I am spaciousness. I am, indeed, human, and woman, child, and lover, teacher, and student. I am wholeness, and I am here to remind you that you are significant. It is imparative that you live the life of your dreams. This benefits all of us, for we are woven as one. Thank you for loving yourself so deeply.
